I am a week late in posting on this blog tour, but it had nothing to do with the book itself. In fact, I love this book! I think it will make a great Christmas gift, and a great chronicle to hand down to your children.
In a nutshell, Me Myself & I AM is a book of questions – from funny to serious, personal facts to reflections – that you can work through. I haven’t gone through much of the book yet, but I sometimes incorporate a question or a page into my quiet time. You could easily use it as a journaling companion.
So in honor of the book, I’d like to do a little meme. Here are the questions from page 42, “If I’d been there.”
1. Answer the questions (all or whichever ones you want) in a post on your blog.
2. Reference the book, and (please!) link to it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1601421427.
3. If you are so inclined, link back to this post. I’ll try to keep tabs on all the participants.
4. As with all memes, personally invite (aka tag) a few people to join you in participating.
So, here are the questions!
- If I’d been Mary or Joseph holding Jesus for the first time, I’d have been feeling:
- If I’d been a disciple traveling with Jesus, I would have asked him:
- If I’d been at the Last Supper, I would have said to Jesus:
- If Id’ been the first person to the tomb after Jesus rose from the dead, I would have:
- If I’d been with Jesus after the resurrection and realized he would be returning to heaven soon, I would have:
Okay, have fun, and I look forward to reading your answers!

I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14).
You can use Me, Myself, & I AM in many ways: as a map to explore your faith, as a lens to focus on your relationship with Jesus, as a fun way to let others get to know you, or as a starting point for important conversations with family and friends. What you record becomes a spiritual time capsule you can revisit months or years from now to see how you used to think and feel, who you used to be.
Be sure to answer questions not with what you feel you should say but with what you really (like it or not) think. After all, you’re writing down the story of your life. You’ll find that some questions are fun, some are serious, and some that appear to be light turn out to be the most thought provoking of all. Answer as many questions as you can, but if a question doesn’t feel right for you, skip it and move on. If you run out of space for an answer, you might want to use the blank pages in the back of the book to continue writing.
So relax, take your time, and enjoy the experience of getting to know yourself and God in new and deeper ways.
